Silent Hill Revelation 3D

"...Of course Silent Hill is horror – pure, dark, intense visceral, psychological and character driven horror...

...Sean, especially, has done some great work this week.  He’s very much at the emotional core of what I’m doing in this story and he’s stepped up to the plate.  I’ve never worked with him before but he’s been a pleasure and much more relaxed and easy going than I’d expected.  His connection with Heather has to feel real and I think (hope) we’ve got it in the scenes they share together...."

Father vanishes, daughter is in Silent Hill and searches, lot of horror and strange creatures, and if I may guess, lot's of blood undead people and unnice things.

Posted by MrDisgusting on April 18, 2012 @ 1:05pm Category: Movies News

Open Road Films has acquired all U.S. distribution rights to Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, the highly anticipated sequel to 2006′s film Silent Hill, released by TriStar Pictures. Silent Hill: Revelation 3D will be released wide October 26, 2012 in time for Halloween. The announcement was made today by Tom Ortenberg, CEO of Open Road Films and producers Samuel Hadida and Don Carmody.

Based on the groundbreaking video game franchise, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is the sequel to the hit film Silent Hill, which opened to number one at the U.S. box office and took in nearly $100 million at the worldwide box office. Featuring an unparalleled horror experience, Konami’s Silent Hill franchise has captivated fans for more than a decade and has spawned a hit comic book series, graphic novels, collectibleaction figures and numerous soundtracks from rock bands.

Directed by Michael J. Bassett (Solomon Kane, Deathwatch), original cast members Sean Bean (HBO’s Game Of Thrones, Lord Of The Rings), Deborah Kara Unger (The Game, 88 minutes, The Samaritan) and Radha Mitchell (Man On Fire, The Crazies, upcoming The Frozen Ground) return in Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, starring along with rising stars Adelaide Clemens (X-Men Origins, upcoming The Great Gatsby, No One Lives) and Kit Harington (HBO’s Game Of Thrones) as well as Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix, Disturbia, NBC’s Chuck) and Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, The Artist).

In Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, Heather Mason (Clemens) and her father (Bean) have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand. On the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by horrific nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her forever.

Ortenberg stated, “Silent Hill has proven to be a powerhouse franchise. The fans have greeted each incarnation, including the original Silent Hill film, with great enthusiasm and we are confident that this latest project will be a strong addition to Open Road’s 2012 slate.

Producer Samuel Hadida added, “The film is a thrill ride that improves on the original in many ways. We take all audiences, new and old, deep into the world of psychological horror that is Silent Hill, and advance the story for those familiar with the franchise. We are thrilled to have Tom and his terrific team at Open Road presenting our film to U.S. audiences.

from director Michael J. Basset's Blog

12 March 2012:

"...For Silent Hill fans, I’m afraid the waiting game has truly begun for all of us.  The movie is complete and is now in the hands of the producers who are deciding when and how to release the picture.  I can honestly tell you that you now know as much as I do. i.e. nothing at all...."

15 February 2012:

"...But before that, next week, I’m back to Toronto for a few days to supervise the final delivery of Silent Hill to the producers…"

9 December 2011:

"...Of course Silent Hill is horror – pure, dark, intense visceral, psychological and character driven horror.  That’s what the games are, that’s what I’m trying to deliver with this movie...."

20 November 2011:

"...This last week has been involved with ADR or looping as it’s sometimes called (depends where you’re from).  It’s basically bringing actors back into the sound studio to re-record dialogue that isn’t useable for one reason of another.  I’ve had Rhada, Malcolm, Deborah, Kit, Adelaide and Sean these past few weeks...."

20 April 2011:

"...Sean Bean is back for the rest of his work.  Having a good time working with him. He’s a typically down to earth and wryly humourous northerner.  A straight talker and great technical film actor too.  I really enjoyed the first episode of ‘Game of Thrones’ and it’s fab to see Kit Harington and Sean on screen together in that.  Also pleased it’s got picked up for a second season – I’d love to direct an episode...."

27 March 2011:

"...The weather was terrible for us.  Heavy snow forced us to give up an entire afternoon and shooting because there was no way to make any of the footage match with what we’d been doing previously.  So that’s the truth of the ‘silent hill filming grinds to a halt’ headline that was going around.  It means I lost a half day shooting on an already insanely tight schedule and Sean Bean had to stay a day longer to finish his scenes.  Then when the snow had moved away, I ended up with brilliant sunshine and blue skies – hardly ideal Silent Hill weather.  It was quite depressing at times...."

19 March 2011:

"...End of week 2.  The days are pretty damn hard but the crew are working like maniacs and I think some good stuff is being generated.  It’s really impossible to know how well anything will turn out until after it’s all put together so I never rave or get too positive at this stage.  I’m simply trying to get as much done as possible with the time and budget I’ve been given.  As you know both Radha and Sean Bean have come back to reprise their roles.  Sean, especially, has done some great work this week.
